Steve writes:
I grew up in Portland, and except for a couple years in Berkeley, CA for seminary, and six years serving the United Methodist Church in Burley, ID, I have lived all my life within 100 miles of there. I love this part of the world.
I got my B.S. degree in biology and did graduate work in wildlife disease. I have always been fascinated by the beauty and intricacy of the way nature works. Like the early theologians, I consider creation to be the “other book of God.” Not a creationist, though! That’s just bad theology and bad science mixed together into a toxic soup.
The most important things in the world to me are my relationships with Jesus, Joanne, Justin, Michael & Jeannie, Aaron, my extended family, my church community, and my neighbors – in that order.
I like to read, camp, work on my wooden boat, fish and hunt, and work - not in any particular order.
